What is CBD?

CBD is all the hype at the moment. I'm sure you've seen everything from Personal care products to teas. But what the heck is it? And why is everyone raving on about it and throwing it into everything! Simple answer, it's one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis.

The more complicated answer is why this particular cannabinoid has become so famous recently. All of us have an endocannabinoid system which is responsible for regulating a number of functions like sleep, mood, pain and appetite. While Cannabis has been used for years to help regulate these functions, many people don't like the effects that CBD's cousin, THC had on them.

THC is the cannabinoid that's responsible for the high effect that I'm referring to above. So for a long time the only way you could benefit from the many health benefits of Cannabis was to smoke it. Once people figured out that you could isolate CBD from THC the market exploded with all sorts of different CBD products.

The reason it exploded is because CBD has shown to assist people manage pain, insomnia, depression, anxiety and general health and well being. The reason why it's being thrown into everything is because, as with everything else, everyone has a preference for how they'd like to ingest their CBD.

A word of caution. While CBD is natural it still has an impact on you and at the moment it is not a requirement for manufacturers to test their offerings before selling it in the market. Always ensure that you are asking for 3rd party testing certifications to ensure the amount of THC in the product, is within Governmental Regulations. We've had many clients come to us and tell us they've tried something or other that had an unsavoury effect on them.

All our CBD products comply with the above and as per our countries regulations do not consume more than 20mg of CBD in day.
